Reading your posts Country bus and Ms Lou brought back a flood of memories. I spent my early years in Alexandria St Ann. The bakery you mentioned across the street from the Perry’s was built and operated by my father Dan (Vivian) Tai. He died in 1963 while I was quite young. I left Alexandria to attend school in Kingston and later migrated to the US.
I recall the sound of the Mayflower bus in the mornings and remember the Perrys, The Treasures (Maas Sidney and Ms. Iris) from who my father purchased the land on which the bakery and shop were built. I also remember the Lyons, The Tappers etc. Over the years I have heard very little about Alexandria but reading your post has brought back good memories and a flood of emotions. It makes me want to see Alexandria again before I depart this life.
